Plainmoor Review by Paul Wood

Torquay United V Bristol City (friendly) 21/07/2010

Travel: Car and I found plenty of street parking near the ground. We arrived mid morning and parked near the ground and went to the sea front for the day (evening kick off )before getting a taxi back later in the day. Checked the car which was fine. Would not recomend this everywhere but the ground is right in amongst local housing with people coming and going all the time and I knew about this after working in Torquay whilst on a contract job.

Pubs: We spent most of the day down near the sea front with a choice of plenty eating and drinking stops and I mean plenty. Lots of holiday makers and locals alike and it was a easy ten minute ride to the ground by taxi.

Impressions: First impression is the ground is tiny and unimposing stadium. As it was a pre season friendly the ground was not full but is a small atmoshperic easy viewing ground. Toilets, food and drink were all easily available but the stewards were a little over powering in there manor at times and that was from a fairly quiet couple of hundred easy going Bristolians.

Facilities: Basic but bareable. Food is available but I never ventured that far. My mate had a pasty and enjoyed it.

Exit: Out and on the road in five minutes and a three and a half hour drive home was easy

Enjoy: Seaside resort with plenty to do. This review looks at a pre season friendly game and is written with the view that last season we went on the day where as this season another pre season friendly has been arranged so we are going for the weekend as we had such a good time. In the summer a good place to go but a long haul in the winter especially mid week.
