Oakwell Stadium Review by Martin Hewitt

Pubs

The pub I visited was the Button Moon, 2 miles south of Barnsley in the village of Wroxborough.

Good selection of usual beers plus local ales
Food was excellent and reasonably priced
Hospitality was great
Decor was really dated but was charming in a 70s way.
Full of friendly Barnsley fans who were a good laugh.

Parking

Easy, away car park just two minute walk
Cost was £3 a car
Getting away took about 30 minutes.

Stadium

Entry was £25 about the norm
Facilities were on the whole good with the usual food Bar which was large as was the bar, The bar was limited to what drinks there were and as usual expensive.
Really quite impressed. Three good stands, but the older stand did look a bit out of place.
Atmosphere was almost non-existent.
Toilets very good and clean

Experience

Marks out of 10 would be 7
Heard reports that the home fans in local pubs were hostile but the BUTTON MOON lot were great
To sum up: Good day out.
